NEOLIVER partners meet in Aachen and Maastricht for a hands-on microfluidics workshop
On 23rd–24th March 2026, NEOLIVER partners ReGEN, DWI, and CSEM gathered for a two‑day technical workshop focused on strengthening the project’s experimental capabilities in microfluidics and cell encapsulation. The meeting brought together experts from the three organisations, combining complementary expertise in biomaterials, engineering, and manufacturing.

The workshop provided an opportunity for the teams to work side by side on laboratory protocols and emerging concepts relevant to NEOLIVER’s technological development. Participants carried out coordinated microfluidics experiments, evaluated practical challenges in encapsulation workflows, and exchanged methodological insights to support the project’s next research phases.
As part of the programme, ReGEN opened the doors of its manufacturing facilities, offering partners a closer look at production environments and equipment relevant to future system integration. The visit enabled valuable discussions on manufacturability, scalability, and technical requirements for downstream development.

Beyond the scientific activities, the in‑person meeting strengthened communication within the consortium and supported the alignment of technical progress across work packages. These collaborative exchanges are key to ensuring that NEOLIVER’s interdisciplinary innovations evolve cohesively toward their shared objective: advancing technologies that contribute to the future of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.

The consortium will continue building on the outcomes of this workshop as it prepares for the next stages of experimental validation and system optimisation.
